Robert Gross' Sonata for Unaccompanied Violin

ANNOUNCEMENT
Robert Gross is an award-winning composer of contemporary classical music, theater and film. Gross is the composer-in-residence of the Relevant Stage Theater Company in Los Angeles, and is currently teaching graduate-level music theory at Rice University. 



Robert Gross recently won the Arch Composition Award for wind ensemble pieces, sponsored by the University of Georgia.  The winning work is his Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments, and was premiered Jan. 22, 2010 at the university under the baton of Dr. John P. Lynch, with Dr. Melissa Sky-Eagle as the soloist.

Gross is a winner of the Inter-American Composition Prize, with the winning work published by C.F. Peters. He scored the musical Yeehad! which was a critical hit at the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His doctoral dissertation, an operatic setting of scenes from Hamlet, was commissioned and performed by the University of Southern California Chamber Opera program in 2008.
